14 CommentsCongratulations to @Xanadeath for winning the $50 iTunes Gift Card raffle! Thanks to everyone else who entered. Keep an eye out for future contests!
13 CommentsAs many of you know, we have artists within the Tap Tap Community who make custom themes. Here is a Rock Band Guitar Hero theme ported into TTR.

Two players, Anoesj & Mattster, are the masterminds behind this theme. I was told not to give out too many details… not that it matters, since I don’t know that much about it. I actually don’t even know how to install custom themes, though I believe it requires a jailbroken device.
I’m anticipating the completion of this theme. Keep rockin’ it guys!

The theme for the “Bulletproof” track was a fun project. The song, by La Roux (luh roo… rhymes with shampoo), is currently a big hit in Europe. If you haven’t seen it, check out her music video. It’s got some amazing art direction.
I modeled the environment in Blender, a free yet powerful 3D app. You can see a snapshot of the La Roux theme in Blender to the right. For those who remember, we featured a theme for G.I. Joe last July. That was the first theme rendered in 3D, and it is still one of my favorites.
I took queues from the music video and recreated its environment for the theme, both normal and revenge mode. The tappers too were rendered in 3D (though highly modified in photoshop). I wanted to create an illusion where you would be flying through an endless square tunnel for revenge mode, but ran short on time.
I’d give you a bigger preview of the theme, but most of you have already downloaded it and played it. And if you haven’t, you better hurry! It’s free for a week! But here… I’ll just post a render in a new perspective.

Toodles. Watch for a chance to win a $50 iTunes Gift Certificate soon!

Don’t get me wrong – Rock Band is awesome. However, I think we have the advantage given the fact that our game is made specifically for the iPhone. That, plus the fact that we have an insanely awesome community. Keep it up.
I’m going to hold another tweeting contest for you guys soon.
